When a Master Mechanic and a Metalsmith join forces magic happens. We are Caleb and Rachel married and metal-obsessed. We both love cars and working with fire! One day when Caleb was working on a car we joked tires are car jewelry then Rachel ran into the studio to get mold material and took a silicone mold of the tire and poof ...Old Town Tread was born.
Taking the mold into the studio, we poured wax into the mold and cast them in bronze. Each piece is slightly different due to the handmade process. The tire castings then get made into belt buckles, bolo ties and rings.
Tire Tread pattern is taken as a mold off a 1955 Mustang then cast in Bronze! We captured the feel of the road and the journey. We also offer handmade leather belts in black and dark brown. Each buckle may differ very slightly as each is hand-cast. (Belt not included)
